We are Miguel and Silvia, founders of International Swimming Academy. Established in 2014, ISA was born in West London, where we trained thousands of swimmers and supported families through a respectful, safety-first approach to water education.Today, we are proudly established in the Mexican Riviera Maya — based in Playa del Carmen (Cancún) bringing our international experience, high standards, and proven methodology to Mexico — while continuing to offer our expertise worldwide.We provide children’s swimming programs, private training, and swimming instructor certifications internationally.
At ISA, we offer a specialized, hands-on approach to water safety and swimming from day one. By building a bond of trust and using expert "touch cues" to stimulate the peripheral nervous system, we train the brain and body for independent flotation—without the use of armbands. Through repetition, songs, and positive reinforcement, we ensure every child develops at their own pace in a fun, productive, and tailor-made environment.

On this programme you will be learning the three main ISA’s Key sequences: Rollback-and-Float; Kick-Float-Kick (guided) and Kick-Float-Kick (independent) you will be equipped to teach children to be safe, confident and independent swimmers in only 20 days.
On this programme you will learn the most effective way to transition your swimmers from the rollback-and-float technique (learnt in the Water Safety Programme) to traditional strokes. You will learn to teach the correct streamlined body position in preparation for teaching strokes. This teaching programme is important to effectively and smoothly progress your students from basic water safety skills to advanced traditional stroke techniques.
On the ISA Traditional Strokes Programme you will benefit from a personalised learning experience to learn the most efficient way to teach traditional swimming strokes; without the use of floats, the bottom or the side of the pool. You will master teaching these strokes via the 4 main focus points: propulsion, pull, breathing and rhythm.
